As anyone who has met me likely knows, I am a big believer in the importance of quality, early speech-language intervention for young children. There is no shortage of information in the literature to prove the value of identifying and intervening early in order to achieve the greatest success. That is why I am proud to be a part of this little volunteer group, Communication Matters: An SLP Advocacy Group for Young Children. We have been working off the sides of our desks for the last few years to do what we can to advocate for better access to speech-language therapy during the preschool years.
Today we launched our website. It contains links to the survey we did in 2015, what we’re working on now, as well as information for parents and caregivers. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments below.
